This web service is operated by Selma Finance AG, Rütli 9c, CH-6415 Arth, CH-130.3.023.642-3 ("Selma Finance," "we," "our" or "us"). This  privacy policy contains information about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use the Selma services, including but not limited to www.selmafinance.ch and www.selma.io (“Service”, “Services”) and the choices you have associated with that data.

1.1.1. Signing up for a user account

When registering a user account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, email address, age, and telephone number, information about your financial situation (such as amount of debt, real estate ownership, savings, monthly saving rate), your investment preferences and your personal risk willingness).

1.1.2. Opening your investment account

When you open an investment account with Selma, we ask for additional personal information such as full name, address, date of birth, reference bank account, the origin of money, wealth and income situation, tax status, employment information, origin of money etc.

This information is required to open an account with our partner bank and to comply with anti money laundering regulation.

1.1.3. Communications

If you contact us, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide. We may also receive a confirmation when you open an email from us.

If you choose to refer somebody to our Services (e.g. through sharing a link or sharing information with us) we may also collect their email address in order to send them a referral or promotional code to sign up for our Services.

1.2.1. Usage Data

We may also collect information how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). In order to provide the Service, we may share and transfer your data, and use services, equipment or facilities located within Switzerland, in the EU or in the US.

We require all service providers to comply with a similar level of data protection as Selma.

Particularly, we require any US service provider to be certified by the EU-US or Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework established by the US Department of Commerce and the European Commission or executed Standard Contractual Clauses (as approved by the European Commission).

By using the Service, you grant Selma an authorization to engage subprocessors for the purposes of providing the Service. We will inform the users of changes in the subprocessor categories by updating this privacy policy.

2.1. Service Providers
We may share information with the corporate group of Selma Finance, third-party vendors and service providers that provide services on our behalf (e.g. Saxo Bank (Switzerland) AG), such as helping to provide the Service, for promotional and/or marketing purposes, to provide you with information relevant to you such as product announcements, software updates, special offers, or other information.

2.2. Analytics
We use analytics providers such as Google Analytics and Heap Analytics. These services uses cookies to collect non-identifying information.

2.3. Advertising & re-marketing
We use re-marketing services to advertise on third party websites to you after you visited our Service. We and our third-party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your past visits to our Service.

 

2.3.1. Google AdWords

Google AdWords re-marketing service is provided by Google Inc. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize the Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page: http://www.google.com/settings/ads

We may share information with parties not included in the above categories in certain situations:

2.4. Aggregate Information

Where legally permissible, we may use and share information about users with our partners in aggregated or de-identified form that can’t reasonably be used to identify you.

2.5. Information we share when you sign up through a referral 

If you sign up for our Service through a referral from a third party, we may share information with your referrer to let them know that you used their referral to sign up for our Services.

2.6. Business transfers

Those safeguards will include, but will not be limited to, measures for preventing access, use, modification or disclosure of Personal Data by Selma personnel except

(a) to provide the Service and prevent or address service or technical problems

(c) as you expressly give consent to.


Security incidents


Upon becoming aware of a means the breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to Personal Data ("Security Incident"), Selma shall without undue delay inform you and provide written details of the Security Incident reasonably required to fulfill the Security Incident reporting obligations under applicable data protection law(s).

Where possible, such details shall include, the nature of the Security Incident, the categories and approximate number of data subjects concerned and the categories and approximate number of Personal Data records concerned, the likely consequences of the Security Incident, and the measures taken or proposed to be taken to mitigate the Security Incident’s possible adverse effects.
 

 

7. Retention of data

Selma Finance AG will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose of providing our Service. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws).

Selma Finance AG will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes.

Selma Finance AG aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

You have the right to data portability for the information you provide to Selma Finance. You can request to obtain a copy of your Personal Data in electronic format so that you can manage and move it. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests.

  • You can use some of the features of the Services without registering, thereby limiting the type of information that we collect.
